The Lot

Well, after about a year of searching, I finally found the lot where my future home will be! I am so excited! It has its downsides (large vegetative buffer zones) but its on a quite, very nice street, 25 minutes to work and close to two nearby cities (if you can call Augusta & Waterville cities). FYI: Construction loans are not a quick process. Always ask for up to 90 days to close to make sure you can get everything done in time.

This is such a new and big step for me. I can't believe at my age (27) I am building my own house, its great. For anyone who wants to do the same, I will be documenting the process so you can get an idea of all the things that go into building a home.

Specifications: approximately 1,200 square feet, stick built, one story, floating slab foundation, radiant heat, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, wrap-around porch, small modified Ranch style home
